Book Blurb

All that glitters is not gold. No-frills cowboy Evan learned that lesson the hard way while married to a rodeo princess, a relationship that was all flash and no substance. At least Evan held on to his daughter, Cheyenne, and his best friend, Brooks, when the sparkle wore off and things fell apart. Life could be a lot worse.

But it could also be better… if Evan and Brooks took a step beyond friendship. Just as they start to explore their feelings, Evan’s ex-wife sticks her nose in to sabotage them. Suddenly everything is up in the air, and they have difficult choices to make about the rodeo, Cheyenne, and the romance they both want so badly to pursue

Book Review

“All that glitters is not gold” is certainly an accurate description of one of the key themes of this cute little novella filled with cowboys, exciting rodeos, and interpersonal conflict of more than one variety. Evan’s ex-wife is a cruel woman, all glitter and no substance, and even though they are divorced, she keeps making trouble. Evan and Brook have been best friends for years, but with the ex having shown her true colors and out of the way without any rights to even see her daughter, Cheyenne, they may be ready to explore what else could be between them.

Both Evan and Brook are very down-to-earth men, stubborn as you’d expect them to be, and very proud. They are loyal to each other and their friends, and they love Cheyenne to distraction. All of that is challenged when the ex-wife goes on the warpath, but Evan and Brook are determined to stick together and do the right thing for Cheyenne. Help comes from unexpected sources, but even so, things are not exactly easy. It’s a good thing they have figured out the main point: love is their guiding principle.

If you like tough, macho cowboys who have their heart in the right place, if you think two best friends can become more given the right circumstances, and if you’re looking for an entertaining read with lots of cowboys and some very hot man-on-man loving, then you will probably like this novella.
