Book Blurb

Sin is a police officer with no time to focus on anything else. The sting operation coming up could make or break his career. But no nothing prepared him for the sexy distraction waiting for him at the bar.

Weaver thought he had left his bad decisions and bad past behind him. But now they returned to demand a favour: distract a cop during a drug buy. When he sees his target, he wishes he could mix business and pleasure.

When things go wrong, they find themselves in an unwitting alliance. Is that enough to melt the ice of a freezing winter night?

Book Review

Two men who have to confront their pasts, find themselves in an impossible dilemma, and realize the only way out is to trust each other. A tall task for pretty much any pair of strangers, but, considering who they are and where they came from, it’s close to impossible for Weaver and Sin. In perfect sync with the setup for this series, the main characters are in mortal peril most of the time, the bad guys seem to be invincible, and the suspense is high until almost the last page. Different from previous volumes, this time both main characters are in mortal danger, rather than the cop protecting a witness, and need to figure out how to save themselves, each other, and bring the bad guys to justice.

Weaver is in trouble from the start. He has history with the biker gang whose leader blackmails him into distracting a cop in a bar, and Weaver can’t ask anyone for help – or thinks he can’t. He may have changed his life, is trying to pass his exams so he can go to college, but how is he going to convince a distrustful cop that he is telling the truth?

Sin may have had some personal trouble with his best-fiend-turned-lover-turned-ex, but he thinks he has got his job under control. Then he meets Weaver, who looks and acts like a rent boy, and suddenly things are no longer so clear-cut. Sin knows he shouldn’t fall for someone he thinks might just be a prostitute, but how can he resist Weaver?

The attraction sizzles between them from the moment Weaver and Sin meet, but with Weaver not being honest about his role (at first), and Sin intent on blaming the whole fiasco on Weaver, the conditions are not exactly ideal for anything other than animosity between the two men. Being snowed in and cooped up in a remote cabin gives them the opportunity to figure things out – or at least begin to trust each other.

If you like bad-boy cops and ex-rent boys, if you enjoy action-packed stories, and if you’re looking for a suspenseful thriller with some very hot man-on-man action, then you will probably like this novella.
